2nd Berlin-Hamburg Workshop in Early Modern Philosophy (HU-UHH)

We invite abstracts of no more than 350 words on any topic in early modern philosophy (construed, roughly, as the period from Montaigne to Reid) for a workshop co-organized by the philosophy departments of Humboldt University Berlin and Hamburg University (HU-UHH). The workshop aims to bring together established scholars, junior faculty, and advanced graduate students, and will take place at Hamburg University on June 28 and 29, 2019. The language of presentation and discussion is English. Talks should be 35-40 minutes, followed by 30-35 minutes of discussion. Deadline for abstract submissions is February 28, 2019; decisions will be made by April 15, 2019. Please submit documents in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org. The abstract should be prepared for blind review (please provide your name, contact details, and institutional affiliation in a separate document). Confirmed keynote speakers are Marleen Rozemond (University of Toronto) and Falk Wunderlich (Universität Halle). Successful applicants may have the opportunity to apply for a travel fund of 300 EUR to cover (at least parts) of their travel costs. Details of the program will be available in April.
