The Summer School will focus on the discussion of some of the most important published texts and of one yet unpublished article on forgiveness by Prof. D. Benatar. In "Better Never to Have Been" and "The Human Predicament", Benatar defends the view that each of us was harmed by being brought into existence, that creating new people is morally deeply problematic and that our lives ultimately lack meaning. In "The second sexism" he argues that males are also victims of serious forms of sex discrimination. The summer school will address these topics.
The unpublished text on forgiveness will be sent out to the participants.
There will be no funding available for travel cost or accommodation, but there will be no fee.
If you would like to participate, please
- contact both organizers and also email@example.com
- briefly explain your interest and
- indicate whether you want to provide a short commentary on one of DavidBenatar´s texts and, if so, on which of them.
Deadline for application: 15 March 2019.
Applicants will receive notifications of acceptance by 15 April
