Modelling dominates economic practice and economic practice influences our life. During the conference, we will challenge ourselves to look into the future and find out where modelling in economics is heading. We dare to ask: how could simulated, complex, data-driven models change the future of modelling in economics? The question connects to several central issues within the philosophy of science, and more specifically the philosophy of models and modelling practices.
We ask all students and starting researchers in philosophy, economics and related disciplines who work on the above described topic to send in abstracts of their contributions, papers, research topics or presentations. If your text is selected, we ask you to present your paper at this year’s Philosophy and Economics Conference. The abstracts will be anonymized for the selection process. The program will have four keynote speakers that will present their research on both days. Contributing presentations will follow. The conference will finish with a panel discussion where input and questions are greatly appreciated.
