The topic of the second Jena Summer Symposium in Philosophy (JeSyP 2019) is “The Ethics of Knowing”. (For more information, please visit jesyp.jimdo.com .)
This year’s distinguished guest is Professor Alessandra Tanesini (Cardiff University). The symposium will take place from July 30th to August 1st in Jena, co-organized by Christine Bratu (Munich) and David Löwenstein (Jena). Professor Tanesini will lead a a one-day seminar on epistemic injustice and give the keynote lecture at a two-day workshop with peer-reviewed presentations by graduate students and early-career post-docs.
In the workshop, we aim to address a broad range of topics and questions from epistemology in general, social epistemology, ethics, social and feminist philosophy.
We invite submissions of long abstracts (500-1,000 words) of papers suitable for presentation in 40 minutes until January 31st. Acceptance of abstracts will be announced in February. Successful speakers will then be asked to submit their full paper until June 30th in order to leave the commentator sufficient time to prepare a 10-minute comment on the paper after the speaker's presentation.
